These antique china pieces are a small covered standing bowl and a small trinket dish that were made in the first half of the 20th century by a Japanese company called Morimura Brothers, which is now known as Noritake China. The emblem on the bottom of these pieces, which depicts the letter āMā in a wreath and the words āhand paintedā and āNipponā indicate that they come from around 1911-1921, which encompasses the period of time when my great-great-grandfather Sanemitsu Hirose was an executive of and later the president of the company. As mentioned in a previous post, he and his wife and their first child (my great grandfather) lived in New York City for a period of time because of his work for this company. My mom collected these pieces and others like this to remind her of her fatherās side of the family and their history in coming to the US.
